Why an anamorphic zoom?
Using a zoom reduces the equipment required compared to traditional 2x anamorphic setups, thus allowing for shooting with a lighter crew.
The series offers a range of focal lengths that allow you to adjust framing and perspective without having to frequently change lenses, increasing versatility on set.
It provides various zoom effects (fast zooms, dolly zooms, slow zooms) for creative storytelling.

Constant 2X Compression Ratio
The 2x compression ratio delivers a more pronounced widescreen aspect ratio (typically 2.39:1 or wider when decompressed), delivering a classic cinematic look with enhanced oval bokeh and more intense flare effects that define anamorphic storytelling, as favored in Hollywood productions.

Compared to 1.33x or 1.5x, which produce softer widescreen ratios (e.g., 1.78:1 or 2.0:1) and subtler distortions, the 2x squeeze offers greater creative control and a more dramatic visual signature, in line with the Sunlight series' goal of bold, expressive cinematography.
