The AF 12mm F2 E autofocus wide angle lens is specifically designed for APS-C size sensors. This new lens has an angle of view equivalent to that of an 18mm over 35mm full-frame lens.
Compact size and light weight with a new design
The AF 12mm F2 E offers a bright aperture at F2, allowing for a faster shutter speed when capturing photos, especially for astrophotography. Completely revised, this lens has been equipped with 12 elements in 10 groups with 5 special lenses (1 H-ASP, 1 ASP, and 3 ED), three ultra-low dispersion elements and two aspherical elements (H-ASP & ASP) have been incorporated into the optical design to minimize chromatic aberrations and distortion in order to produce sharper images.
Additionally, an improved Ultra Multi Coating (UMC) coating has been applied to the lens elements to reduce surface reflections and prevent lens flare and ghosting. All to achieve better light transmission and to offer richer contrasting images.

The new AF 12mm F2.0 has exceptional image quality, you will be able to capture the starry night much more clearly than with smartphones. Thanks to the presence of 5 special elements (1 H-ASP, 1 ASP and 3 ED) plus an Ultra Multi-Coating coating, the new AF 12mm f2.0 achieves exceptional image quality from the center to the edges of the frame, even at maximum aperture F2. With the advanced optical design, the minimum focusing distance has been reduced to just 19cm, so you can easily capture close-ups and indoor images.
